Changelog 88: End of the Year Update

Updates and New Features:

• NEW STORAGE: We recently purchased 4TB of SSD storage for the server! This will hopefully allow me to keep old chunks for longer, as well as store more backups.

• VC Mod: Simple Voice Chat has been updated to version 2.6.7. To keep using proximity voice chat, we highly recommend updating to the latest mod version.
• Spawn Shops: Congratulations to Juicy Shop for winning the Best Performing Shop award this year! We are also planning to build more shops along the shoreline to keep up with demand. A few things to remember:
  • Do NOT request for a shop in a support ticket! Please use /mail send (either Al240 or LiterallyFire) to make any requests. DMing us on Discord may not guarantee a response (I don't check message requests often).
  • Weekly income taxes are 10% of your profits and only apply if you make more than 4 Nisks in that time. You have the choice of either calculating the 10% tax yourself and leaving it in the rent chest (make sure to clearly label it) or leaving them in the items chest for me to calculate. Starting this week, the 50% late fee will also apply to missing/late/insufficient income taxes.
• 2025 Jail Games: This year, slimepc_, _Enderdude38_, and FuriousBomby111 will be building Clash Royale Hog Mountain for an unjail! See the jail games channel on Discord for more info.
• Builder applications are still open! We need a few things built around spawn so I'm looking for a few more temporary builders. 
  • Base Requirements: Must be at least 13* years of age at the time of application, have a working microphone, and have a livechat-linked Discord account.
  • Recommended to have experience with WorldEdit and/or WorldPainter
  • Have at least 3 builds you've done in the past on hand. You will need to showcase them.
• Lag mitigation protocols introduced earlier this year have been updated. They now trigger around 28-30 players instead of 32-35.
  • While the server lags, voice chat will be temporarily disabled for players below Netherite rank. Mobs will also be disabled until lag clears.
• Server updated from 1.21.8 to 1.21.10 with 1.21.11 client support. We will update to the next version once all plugins are updated.
• New players now spawn directly in front of the Start Guide.
  • We are also taking advantage of the game's new dialog feature, so the start info holograms are in the process of being converted.
• A few AFK playtime/claim block glitches have been patched. Remember, AFKing will NOT earn you any playtime rewards, and you may be kicked if the server is too laggy.
  • Large hopper arrays or dispenser/dropper ticks must be optimized or you risk further consequences!

Removed:

• Temporarily suspended the use of some Netherite gadgets (i.e. TNT, fishing hook) due to a bug. This should be fixed within the next few days.
• Chunks unmodified since July 1, 2025, will be purged after the next week's End reset (12/30).
  • We will continue removing chunks older than (unmodified for) 6 months/180 days to save disk space.
